What we collect

SkinMD receives the data you and your clinic send us. That includes the photos your dermatoscope captures, the patient identifiers your clinic assigns, the dermatology notes you write, your account email, and basic device telemetry from the capture app. We do not collect anything we have not been asked to.

How we use it

Clinical data is used to render the patient record your clinic sees. Account data is used to authenticate you. Device telemetry is used to keep the capture app working. We do not sell patient data, we do not train models on patient data, and we do not share patient data with anyone outside your clinic unless you ask us to.

Where it lives

Patient data is stored in a managed Postgres database, encrypted at rest. Images are stored in the same region as the database. Access is gated by your clinic's account credentials and is logged.

Sharing with patients

When you generate a share link for a patient, that patient can view the records you select for as long as the link is active. The link is opaque — patients cannot infer other records from it. You can revoke any share link at any time from the patient record page.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Patient rights are exercised through your clinic. Contact us at privacy@skindmd.com.
